Elur Rotary Vocational Service felicitations

Rotary Club Eluru, the home club of Dist Governor Dr. Damodar Reddy, was Building the Community through vocational service month celebrations and felicitation to 9 citizens for their service to the community along the lines of the Rotary's 4-way test.

Sri Alla Kali Krishna Srinivas (nani), MLA, Eluru Assembly Constituency was the chief guest.

I am Rtn. Poosha Darbha - District Director, Vocational Service - from Rotary Club of Peddapuram Samalkot (RI Dist 3020).

Vocation:

My professional endeavors include offset printing, publishing of Abhisarika sex science monthly, sex counselling, and an ayurvedic pharmacy. I did my Masters and PhD in Human Genetics in Andhra University. Later on shadowed in my father Ramsha's profession of sexual counseling, went through professional training during a span of 10+ years and settled in the same field.

I have been a life member of the Indian Assoc. of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists; Fellow of the Council of Sex Education and Parenthood international (CSEPI), served on the executive body of CSEPI and editor of its official journal and so on.

I was the sixth recipient of Golden Lamp Award from CSEPI - the largest India Association in the field of Sexuality.

Rotary:

Joined the RC Peddapuram in 1996. Served as Club secretary in 2000-2001, and as President in 2002-03 when PDG Sam Movva was Dist. Governor and Bichai Rattakul was RI President. Won Champion President recognition in the District.

Over the years I was entrusted with various responsibilities at the District level - as Co-chairman, AIDS Awareness and Prevention, Co-Chairman Health and Hunger Concerns, District Correspondent, Dist. Training Coordinator, Rota Quiz Chair, Chair- Membership Development, Chair-APF, Director International Service, Chair-GSE, and now Director - Vocational Service.

I was also privileged to address a number of clubs on membership development and retention, Annual Program Fund, Named Gifts, and vocational service. Was also a speaker, faculty / panelist in a number of district fora incl. PETS / SETS and Dist. Assemblies.
