District 3020 Vocational Service Seminar

The District Vocational Service Seminar was held on 2nd Oct 2010 at Kakinada in a spacious and pleasant ambiance provided by Surya Kala Mandir. Rotary Club Peddapuram-Samalkot hosted the seminar. Rtn. DVR Poosha (RC Peddapuram-Samalkot) was the seminar leader.  

 Inaugurated by DG Dr. DamodarReddy, the plenary part of the seminar was marked by presentation of District Vocational Service award to Dr. I.V. Rao, a renowned physician, former Director of A.P. Medical and Health Services and present Vice-Chancellor of NTR University of Health Sciences. 

Sri Chaganti Koteswara Rao, a spiritualist and wellknown speaker delivered a motivating keynote address on the importance of integrity in and dedication to service through one's profession. 

The other guests of honor, Sri Ch. S. Venugopalakrishna, Chairman, Zilla Parishad and Sri Dwarampudi Chandrasekhar Reddy, MLA, Kakinada City - both being Rotarians - narrated to the 300+ audience how they were motivated by the service of Rotarians and emulated them whenever an opportunity presented. 





























In the second session of the seminar, District Counsellor-Vocational Service PDG. Anjaneya Murthy stressed on going back to the basics for a meaningful service through vocations. 

PDG. Chaya Devi highlighted the need and ways and means to shape the presentation generation towards adulthood driven by ethical values, through value-based education. 

Rtn. Dr. C Suryaprakasa Rao spoke on striking balance between profession and ethics. 

DGE Ramu stressed on recognizing one's own profession as the best opportunity to serve the society and quoted several examples from the district, for ex., how a hotelier has been providing free meal to poor and meritorious students year after year. He also exhorted the rotarians to fulfill the governor's goals in vocational service. A brief interactive session followed.

The host club RC Peddapuram-Samalkot has put up an impressive show with an excellent team work and wonderful hospitality, besides 74% attendance (40/54). The registrations excl. host club were 135. 

Host president RV Subba Raju, Seminar Chairman Ambati Subrahmanyam and Seminar Leader Poosha deserve rich compliments.

RC Kakinada Golden Jubilee

President Krishna Kumari and Team have embarked upon an interesting vocational activity.

They have put up a day-long exhibition of various traditional vocations like pottery, carpentary, handloom, basket-weaving etc. in a high school premises. The exhibitors not only displayed their products but actually demonstrated the making of their products. This was an educating experience for hundreds of school children, who visited the exhibition, notwithstanding the heavy downpour that day. The District Collector, East Godavari, Sri Ravichandra inaugurated the program, while the District Police Superintendent Sri Srinivas has felicitated the participants in the evening.

RC Golden Jubilee has earlier felicitated 4 citizens who have rendered service above self  in the areas of Care of Special Children, Modern Poetry, Classical Dance, and care of inmates of students welfare hostel.

The club has to its credit a vocational training center. Pres. Krishna Kumari also  provides training to young women in beauty & make-up, and also provide start-up kits to initiate their own centers. Other rotarians are planning to follow suit.

Elur Rotary Vocational Service felicitations

Rotary Club Eluru, the home club of Dist Governor Dr. Damodar Reddy, was Building the Community through vocational service month celebrations and felicitation to 9 citizens for their service to the community along the lines of the Rotary's 4-way test.

Sri Alla Kali Krishna Srinivas (nani), MLA, Eluru Assembly Constituency was the chief guest.

3-10-2010:                          
District vocational service seminar: Three members of our club have attended the seminar held at Kakinada.       


20-10-2010:                       
Weekly meeting:     Discussions have been made on to create awareness on malnutrition and prevention for school going children. As per 4 way test we have selected persons from four different vocations to felicitate.

30-10-2010:    
                   
Vocational Excellence Service Awards:  The 4 way test followed by Rotarians is the backbone of Vocational services. On this basis the Rotary Club of Gudivada has selected 4 people from different walks of life for vocational excellence awards for the Rotary year 2010-2011.

A function was organized to present the awards on 30th October 2010 at 5-30p.m in G.V.Purnachandra rao community hall a/c, Gudivada. Sri P.V. Ramana Rayalu, XI Addl. District & Sessions Judge as Chief Guest and admired the activities of Club at length in his speech. Sri M.V.G.Anjaneyulu has delivered key note message on the importance of Vocations to society. Rtn CA G. Babu Srikar, Asst.Governor R.I Dist.3020 as Guest of Honour has participated and encouraged the members.

The following members from different vocations have received the awards.

1. Sri Tipirneni Seshagiri Rao, C.E.O., Sentini group of Companies has received vocational excellence award from Industrialist of the region for his contribution towards rural employment and service.

2. Sri G. Venkateswara Rao, Deputy Educational Officer, has received the award from education for involvement and motivation students in different activities.

3. “Yogamitra” K.D.V.N.Srinivas, a social worker, yoga trainer and blood donor club organizer has received the award for free service to society.

4. Sri Potluri Radhakrishna Murthy has received the award as best transport operator of the area for creation of employment and family uplifting as role model. 









People who involved in any activity beneficial for the society must be rewarded and recognized to encourage others to create a society up to the 4 way test of the Rotary.
