Marteru Rotary Club organizes blood donation camp

Rotary club of Marteru has organized a blood donation camp in connection with the Vocational Service Celebrations, October 2010. This was in addition to celebrating Gandhi Jayanthi and urging the youth to traed the path of Truth and Non-violence advocated and practised by Gandhi-ji. Rtn. PDG Dr. Subba Reddy was the chief guest for this inaugural event of the designated month.


RC Marteru has also conducted a basket ball coaching camp for the youth through basket ball champion Sri Karri Bhaskar Reddy. Kum. Sathi Geetha, who won a Bronze medal in the Commonwealth Games was felicitated in this connection.


Karri Naga Bhaskar Reddy, an artist whose paintings in an art exhibition conducted through the assistance of RC Marteru attracted one and all, was felicitated, too.




A new Rotaract was club was formed and inaugurated by District Governor Dr. Damodar Reddy. During his official visit the club has donated Rs.50,000 to the End Polio Now fund intended to meet the Bill Gates $200 million Challenge.

District 3020 Vocational Service Seminar

The District Vocational Service Seminar was held on 2nd Oct 2010 at Kakinada in a spacious and pleasant ambiance provided by Surya Kala Mandir. Rotary Club Peddapuram-Samalkot hosted the seminar. Rtn. DVR Poosha (RC Peddapuram-Samalkot) was the seminar leader.  

 Inaugurated by DG Dr. DamodarReddy, the plenary part of the seminar was marked by presentation of District Vocational Service award to Dr. I.V. Rao, a renowned physician, former Director of A.P. Medical and Health Services and present Vice-Chancellor of NTR University of Health Sciences. 

Sri Chaganti Koteswara Rao, a spiritualist and wellknown speaker delivered a motivating keynote address on the importance of integrity in and dedication to service through one's profession. 

The other guests of honor, Sri Ch. S. Venugopalakrishna, Chairman, Zilla Parishad and Sri Dwarampudi Chandrasekhar Reddy, MLA, Kakinada City - both being Rotarians - narrated to the 300+ audience how they were motivated by the service of Rotarians and emulated them whenever an opportunity presented. 





























In the second session of the seminar, District Counsellor-Vocational Service PDG. Anjaneya Murthy stressed on going back to the basics for a meaningful service through vocations. 

PDG. Chaya Devi highlighted the need and ways and means to shape the presentation generation towards adulthood driven by ethical values, through value-based education. 

Rtn. Dr. C Suryaprakasa Rao spoke on striking balance between profession and ethics. 

DGE Ramu stressed on recognizing one's own profession as the best opportunity to serve the society and quoted several examples from the district, for ex., how a hotelier has been providing free meal to poor and meritorious students year after year. He also exhorted the rotarians to fulfill the governor's goals in vocational service. A brief interactive session followed.

The host club RC Peddapuram-Samalkot has put up an impressive show with an excellent team work and wonderful hospitality, besides 74% attendance (40/54). The registrations excl. host club were 135. 

Host president RV Subba Raju, Seminar Chairman Ambati Subrahmanyam and Seminar Leader Poosha deserve rich compliments.

RC Kakinada Golden Jubilee's innovative Vocational Service activities

RC Kakinada Golden Jubilee

President Krishna Kumari and Team have embarked upon an interesting vocational activity.

They have put up a day-long exhibition of various traditional vocations like pottery, carpentary, handloom, basket-weaving etc. in a high school premises. The exhibitors not only displayed their products but actually demonstrated the making of their products. This was an educating experience for hundreds of school children, who visited the exhibition, notwithstanding the heavy downpour that day. The District Collector, East Godavari, Sri Ravichandra inaugurated the program, while the District Police Superintendent Sri Srinivas has felicitated the participants in the evening.

RC Golden Jubilee has earlier felicitated 4 citizens who have rendered service above self  in the areas of Care of Special Children, Modern Poetry, Classical Dance, and care of inmates of students welfare hostel.

The club has to its credit a vocational training center. Pres. Krishna Kumari also  provides training to young women in beauty & make-up, and also provide start-up kits to initiate their own centers. Other rotarians are planning to follow suit.
